Memorial Wall and Garden, St Mary the Virgin Church, Barnet
A mixture of hard and soft landscaping was merged in the design and implementation of an elegant, serene Memorial Garden in the St Mary the Virgin Church in Barnet. As the site lay within an Archaeological Priority Area of Barnet, the project required a degree of reverence. Lyndon liaised with the church and Archaeological monitoring and recording services to ensure the treatment of the church and graveyard was carried out with precision- that said, it certainly created some of the most unusual discoveries of Lyndon's career.
New groundworks and foundations, with specific dimensions and ratios, were initially laid out extending the church path to the memorial garden. Lyndon and the team illustrated their expertise by executing faultless excavation and paving on the paths, all whilst retaining the quaint, ecclesiastical feel by using reclaimed Yorkstone. The area was completed and harmonised with the instalment of majestic and pristine colourful flowers.
